Solar farm at Summercourt planning application in Cornwall

JBM Solar Projects wants to build the facility on land at Burthy Row Farm.

The application states that the site covers 83 hectares but that the solar panels and associated services will only use 5% of the land. As well as the solar panels the plans also include a battery energy storage system.

Documents submitted with the application state that the output of the solar farm would be 49.9MW.

They also indicate that a community benefit fund would be set up providing £150,000 for local projects and that the total investment in the project will be £40million.

It states that the solar farm would be able to produce enough power for 19,606 UK homes.
