These artists will be featured in a major exhibition at the Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery next month, celebrating contemporary art.
The exhibition, called Framed: Cornwall Open, was curated following an open call for submissions, with a record number received.
The judging panel described the overall standard as “outstanding”.
Bryony Robins, co-director of the museum, said: “It’s heartening to see the incredible levels of skill and imagination that exist across so many artistic disciplines in our community – from people who make a living through their practice, to emerging artists, to those who embrace it as a creative outlet which enhances wellbeing.”
“Much of the work will be for sale, which is a great way to support local artists in the run-up to Christmas.
“We also urge everyone to vote in the People’s Choice Awards, as we seek to highlight the benefit to us all from living in a community where creativity thrives.”
The exhibition will be open to the public from October 26, offering a variety of art forms including portraits, landscapes, and still lives executed in pencil, pen, chalk, watercolours, and oils.
There will also be sculptures in clay, metal, and found materials, decorative and functional ceramics, textiles, and stained glass.
Drawing, photography, collage, and printmaking will also feature, with engraving, woodcuts, monotypes, and botanical prints, as well as paintings in oil, acrylic, and watercolour.
Framed: Cornwall Open will also include the work of an additional 53 artists, digitally displayed to showcase the rich creativity in Cornwall.
As part of the exhibition, all artists will be entered into The People’s Choice Awards, with three categories: the work that makes me happiest, the work that shows the most skill, and overall ‘best in show’.
Voting for the People’s Choice Awards ends on Christmas Eve, with the winners announced on January 21.
Framed: Cornwall Open will be at Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery from October 26, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
An annual pass for the museum costs £10, while members and under-18s can enter for free.
