A rock thrown through the window of a house in a late night attack is being treated as “racially motivated”.
Police say the rock was thrown at around 1.15am on Saturday, on Carew Pole Close in Malpas, Truro.
Around the same time, the tyres of a white Audi car parked nearby were slashed and its bodywork scratched.
Police would now like to hear from anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage of the Malpas area around the time of the incident, which they said was “being treated as a racially motivated attack.”
Investigating officer Sergeant Marc Sayers said: “This was a targeted attack and a frightening incident for the victim, particularly because it happened in the middle of the night.
“As part of our investigation, officers have conducted door-to-door enquiries, reviewed CCTV footage and social media posts, conducted forensic work, and have facilitated the installation of an alarm for the victim.
“We would like anyone who thinks they may have any information about this attack to get in touch with us.
“Racial hatred will not be tolerated. Anyone who believes they are being targeted, or feels threatened, should report incidents directly to us.
“Those who perpetrate racial hatred on social media should be aware that this will not be tolerated either, and anyone who is the victim of such abuse should contact us.”
