Rescue mission to save RNLI truck from the sea

It was a race against time for RNLI crews in Cornwall this afternoon after one of the charity’s trucks got into a spot of bother.

The vehicle became surrounded by sea water at Perranporth Beach earlier today as the tide came in.

The lifeguards, more used to saving people from the sea than vehicles, just managed to tow it out of danger.

Chris Hughes, who was on the beach with his son and dog, watched the rescue mission unfold and sent us these pictures.
