Anyone who’s ever thought of running their own pub could be landing their dream job soon – right here in Poldark country.
St Austell Brewery is on the look out for talented operators to run two of its Charlestown pubs, a harbour made famous by so many films and TV series, including of course Poldark on the BBC a few years ago.
Many of the scenes from the series were filmed in the Grade II listed harbour, just a stone’s throw away from the brewery’s hiring pubs – the Rashleigh Arms and the Pier House.
The Rashleigh Arms is an award-winning premium pub with eighteen stylish yet characterful bedrooms which overlook the historic harbour. Meanwhile, the Pier House Hotel is a larger inn with twenty-seven comfy rooms, which also benefits from stunning harbour views.
The company is looking for experienced pub managers from a managed background who are great customer and people leaders and truly passionate about quality food and drink and creating memorable experiences for our guests. Applicants must also demonstrate a strong drive for developing customer experience, leading a team, and delivering exceptional retail standards.
Being set in such a desirable location overlooking St Austell Bay means the pub welcomes high footfall over the summer, so the ideal candidates will have worked in environments managing high seasonal uplift and have a passion for delivering great experiences all-year round.
A salary between £42,000 and £50,000 per year is being offered for both roles with a comprehensive benefits package.
Tamsyn Allington, People & Communications Director, St Austell Brewery, said: “For many, running a pub is a dream job but it is even more exciting to be offering two opportunities to work in such a silver-screen worthy location.”
“Our people are right at the heart of everything we do, and we’re always on the lookout for passionate and talented pub operators to join our teams and help us deliver unforgettable experiences. As a business, we are committed to nurturing and releasing the potential of our people and are proud to be in a position to offer great career opportunities in one of the most beautiful regions of the UK.”
