Pensioner charged with murder after woman’s body is found in flat

A 74-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Hayle yesterday (Monday, October 26).

Thomas Whitehorn, from Hayle, is charged in connection with the death of 53-year-old Rhonda Humphreys.

Police and ambulance paramedics were called to Trevoarn flats in Foundry Square at around 2am and located Mrs Humphreys with multiple injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Whitehorn remains in custody and is due to appear before Exeter Magistrates’ Court today.
