If there is one thing lockdown has afforded many of us, is the time to do things we wouldn’t usually have the time for.
That includes playing around with various apps for your smartphone and computer which can colourise old photos.
It’s not easy to convert old photos from their often grainy sepia and monochrome, but we’ve found a program that does this very well – and very quickly.
With that, we’ve transformed old pictures of Cornwall to show you the scenes from history that you’ve probably never seen this way before.
The program we liked best is one currently available on the MyHeritage family history research website. For full access to the site and its facilities, you normally have to pay, but up until April 22 you were able to upload and colourise photos for free.
Now, users can colourise 10 photos for free, and beyond that, you will need a complete subscription to colorize more.
