Viewers of Channel 4’s Four in a Bed have complained that Covid-19 is making contestants on the show “far too nice”.
It comes after the latest installment which, despite a number of complaints and negatives from rival B&B owners, saw all circle that ‘yes’ when asked if they’d stay again.
On Tuesday’s episode (March 23) Carl and Sharon welcomed their fellow contestants to Driftwood Luxury Lodges in Derbyshire.
Carl was joined by his best friend for the competition but said he runs everything on his own. He also showcased the on-site cattery full of chandeliers which, in yesterday’s episode, Carl even dubbed a “cat hotel”.
Their luxury wooden lodges cost £120 per night (with a two night minimum stay) and include continental breakfast delivered to the door. Rooms are full of handmade decor by Carl and the pair continued the theme of interior design with a group activity of wreath making.
There’s even an indoor fire pit.

Those watching the show were certainly impressed with Carl’s efforts and one viewer (@trophysophie89) picked up on a spot of envy from the other contestants, tweeting: “Watching 4 in a bed and the jealousy is hanging out of the other competition. Driftwood Lodges is phenomenal! #fourinabed“.
But despite driftwood decor, plush faux fur blankets and enormous plants, some wanted more for their money – a cooked breakfast, more storage space, WiFi and a telly were some of the biggest complaints from guests from the get-go.
For two of the contestants, there seemed to be a dodgy smell about the place. The mother and daughter duo spent much of their time in their lodge complaining of a pong from the bathroom.
And when it came to breakfast, guests weren’t happy with their “chewy bagels” and lack of smoked salmon or a hot meal.
So fans were certain that feedback forms would come as a shock to the friendly, creative host – but it just wasn’t the case as all three couples said they’d come back for another stay.
This isn’t the first time contestants have been called “too nice”. Last week, despite winner Colette’s gripes at sausages and other facilities, there was very little drama come payday.
Last week one viewer (@swilliams73) tweeted: “They’re all far too nice on this series so far. Would mainly all stay again and giving full payment. I’m putting it down to covid! #fourinabed” and after today’s episode commented: “Three of them saying yes yet again. Stfu with your complaints if you’re willing to stay there again #fourinabed”.
While @twizzle1010 tweeted: “And another 3 covid yeses. This is outrageous! #fourinabed”.
A few fans are finding it less entertaining, too. @GavinEvs said: “Not as good when they all get on (angry face emoji) #fourinabed”.
