The daughters of a motorcyclist who died following a collision with a car near Camelford, on the afternoon of Saturday 24 April, have paid tribute to their “perfect dad and grandad”.
Kevin Mansfield, 65, from the St Austell area, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital following the collision and sadly died three weeks later on Saturday 15 May.
Kevin’s daughters, Hayley and Vanessa, said: “Despite our dad’s brave efforts for 21 days after his accident, aided by the hospital’s expert medical team, it was sadly not to be, and we will miss him enormously.
“Our dad was an avid and highly responsible biker for many years, so this was the last thing any of us could ever have imagined.”
They added: “He was a wonderful dad and supported and encouraged us in everything we did throughout our whole lives.
“Dad had a fantastic sense of humour and we loved to see him walk through the door. He was a perfect grandad, energetic and full of life, and our own children thought the world of him.”
The collision occurred at around 4.40pm on the B3266 at Broadview, and involved a Suzuki GSX 1400 and a Ford C-Max.
Anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t already been in touch with police is asked to contact officers on 101 or via email at email@example.com quoting log number 683 of 24/04/21.
