Cornwall missing woman found at Falmouth beach Swanpool

A woman was found at the water’s edge in Falmouth late on Saturday, 19 hours after she was reported missing.

Police said that officers were first alerted at 3.45am on Saturday, about a woman being reported missing from a premises in Truro.

Searches of the local area began, with officers making enquiries to try and find her.

It was not until 10.51pm, however, that she was found, when Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team was called to Swanpool, over concerns for the welfare of a woman.

A spokesperson said: “On scene, team members found a female at the waters edge.

“We administered basic first aid and she was transferred to hospital by ambulance.”

Police were subsequently called, with a force spokesperson saying: “Police were called at 11.20pm on Saturday after the woman was located unwell near the water at Swanpool Beach, Falmouth by HM Coastguard.

“The woman, in her 20s and from the Newquay area, was treated by ambulance and taken to Treliske Hospital.”
