Cornish local shops and food places still working for you in lockdown

Life is very different for most of us on the first weekend since Lockdown 2 started.

Restaurants and pubs aren’t open and neither are shops which are classified as “non-essential”. However, many of our great fixtures of the high street have adapted what they do to stay open in different ways. You can still get a meal to take home with you or have delivered, some places you can still get a drink to takeaway and for others, you can buy yourself a weekend treat from the comfort of your own sofa.

Here’s where supporting your local high street comes in. Smaller businesses need our support right now. They’re often owned by the families and individuals that are part of our communities, for some, they are our neighbours and friends and after a brutal start to 2020 that has exhausted the reserves in place, some businesses could be potentially vulnerable during any lockdown downturn in trade.

Across this next month, Cornwall Live is calling on all of us to help support our independent and local traders at a time where every penny counts. While we all know of the large retailers that already offer online delivery, the difference is they aren’t part of the fabric of the small communities that make Cornwall the great place it is.

Our live blog below contains messages from and the details of where you can find the local businesses in your area that are still operating during the latest coronavirus lockdown and how they’re operating.

Please let us know about your business or any that you are aware of that are offering service during lockdown. Contact us by messaging our Facebook page here, finding us on Twitter @CornwallLive or by clicking here, find us on Instagram here or email us at cornwalllive@reachplc.com and please use the hashtag #shopbeforetheyshut everywhere.

So, what are you going to treat yourself to this weekend?
