An incredible Christmas advert made by a post office in Cornwall is melting everyone’s hearts – with many saying it is better than the iconic John Lewis ads.
Bude Post Office released the magical video which tells the story of two little girls who were used to spending a lot of time with their grandma.
But then the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown happened and they started really missing her.
So they decided to prepare a surprise for her and send it via their local post office. You can watch the full video above.
The ad was filmed in Bude and Kilkhampton. It also shows the inside of Bude Post Office and some of its staff, including Luke Francis, who is behind the genius video.
Luke, the head postmaster, has been working at the local post office for 25 years.
“I thought we should do it this year, with everything that’s gone on, we’ve worked so hard and we’ve held the country together with letters and parcels.
“I wanted to show we’ve been here for everyone.”

The advert took two days to film. The grandmother is actually played by Luke’s own mother, while the children and the mum are played by Jas, Ruby and Lucy who also part of the postmaster’s family.
As soon as the ad was released, it received immediate success, with people saying they cried their eyes out.
“People say it’s better than John Lewis,” Luke said. “That’s all they’ve been saying all day, that it’s better than John Lewis, that they want it to go national.”
And there’s actually a chance that it might do.
“Hopefully they’re going to share it nationally for the post office,” Luke added.
“They’re sorting a few legalities.”
First shared on the Bude Post Office Facebook page, the ad received hundreds of comments.
Rachel Petitt wrote: “Move over John Lewis, there’s a new contender in town! Absolutely incredible, well done guys! First Christmas advert tears have officially been shed in this house this year.”
Meanwhile, Michael Dinsdale commented: “As always thinking of other people at all times… big thank you for being you… well done my friend.”
Gigi Kingdon added: “You really are an amazing post office. Such lovely people. Very helpful and caring. Especially in this world where people have become so selfish, you are so kind.”
And Alison Maltby said: “Well done Luke and the Post Office family, you are a credit to Bude and thank you for all you do.”
