Christmas is coming and that means it’s nearly Christmas tree time. Over the next few weeks, families across Cornwall will be driving to pick up a fragrant fir tree ready to be adorned with glass baubles, tinsel and twinkle lights.
And there are some great places in Cornwall to get Christmas trees whether you put yours up on or before the traditional date of December 13, earlier or perhaps even later. From family-run farms to festive garden centres, you will be spoiled for choice.
So, when it comes to picking out yours for the season, we’ve compiled a list of the most popular places across Cornwall. So, rest assured knowing you’ll be in good hands at one of these locations.
Santa Trees, Liskeard

Many will have paid a visit to the couple who have been growing Christmas trees in the Duchy for over 60 years. It will come as no surprise that for Ivor and Margaret Dungey of Santa Trees near Liskeard, this is their busiest time of the year.
But despite both now being in their eighties, they show no signs of slowing up and admit that the festive season is still their favourite time to be at work. Growing his seasonal crop on the five-and-a-half-acre plot at Lodge Hill where he has been based for the past 35 years, 85-year-old Ivor Dungey spends his days surrounded by over 30,000 Christmas trees.
As well as selling individual trees direct to the public, Ivor and Margaret also sell Christmas trees wholesale to local businesses. Having grown 21 different varieties of Christmas tree over the years, they mainly grow Nordmann Firs now. Read their full story here.

First established in 1986, this Newquay-based Christmas tree farm has been supplying households with their pick of the bunch for more than thirty years. Just rock up and choose your tree with sizes from 4 to 15ft – all the non-needle dropping kind. They also offer free delivery.

At two locations in Cornwall Prestige offer freshly cut, non-drop Nordmann Fir Christmas trees. You can handpick them ahead of time or order online and then collect via a drive-thru. Yes, a drive-thru for Christmas tree shoppers. Both locations are open daily from November 25. They can also deliver to your door.
Cornish Cottage Farm, Redruth

A family farm nurturing home-grown Christmas trees for the people of Cornwall to enjoy. You can wander around this Christmas tree wood, near Redruth, and choose a beautiful Nordmann Fir tree – from 5 to 10ft – of your dreams. Once you have picked the tree, they will cut and prepare it for you to take home.
If visiting, it’s advised you wear appropriate clothes and footwear. This farm is open Fridays and weekends from November 18, from 9am to 6pm daily. You do need to let the farm know you are coming which can be done by phoning 07311408643 or emailing email@example.com.
Ladydowns Christmas Trees, Penzance
Polgoon Vineyard and Orchard, Rosehill Meadow, Penzance, TR20 8TE
Based near Penzance, Ladydowns grows high-quality Christmas trees and primarily serves customers in the West Penwith area including the Isles of Scilly. The business was first established in 2007 at a place called Ladydowns, between Penzance and St Ives.
The ground was not suitable for growing the crop so they eventually moved – deciding to keep the name. It now sells about five different varieties and a visit to the site at Polgoon Vineyard and Orchard, near Heamoor, will offer you a great choice of freshly cut trees displayed every day in December.
Cambrose Christmas Tree Farm, near Redruth
Tram Road, Chapel Hill, Nancekuke, Redruth, TR16 5UF
A small family business where Christmas trees have been growing since 1994. Set out over a 12-acre farm, this is the home of around 8,000 trees.
Located between Porthtowan and Portreath, it is open every day for cutting and selling from the last Saturday in November (November 26 this year). The tree farm is open 12-5pm on weekdays and 9am-5pm on weekends.
Stacey’s Christmas Trees, Clawton
Higher North Beer Farm, Clawton, Holsworthy, Devon, EX22 6PQ
Stacey’s Christmas Tree Farm is a family-run business near the Devon and Cornwall border in a small village called Clawton. The family began planting Christmas trees in 1990 and since then business has continued to grow to an impressive 30,000 trees of different varieties and sizes.
The trees are cut daily and put in a display area for people to choose from or you can take a wander and choose one straight from the field with staff on hand to help carry them back to your car and help with loading.
