A30 in Cornwall to be closed ‘for some time’ after crash

Part of a major road in Cornwall is due to be closed for “some time” following a crash on the dual carriageway.

The A30 between the A395 Kennard’s House and the B3257 Plusha is closed after the incident reported to involve a car and a lorry near Two Bridges.

On Twitter, Highways England confirmed police have been called out to the scene and the road will be shut while investigation work is carried out.

The tweet from Highways England says: ” # A30 Westbound between the A395 # KennardsHouse and the B3257 # Plusha – police are on scene and advising the road will be closed for some time to allow them to carry out investigation works.

“Diversions will be in place. Allow extra time for your journey.”

The latest information from traffic monitoring website Inrix says that motorists travelling between Launceston and Bodmin are being impacted by the incident.

“A30 Westbound closed, queuing traffic due to accident, a car and a lorry involved from A30 (Two Bridges) to B3257 (Bodmin Moor Services),” the message which was updated at 9.35am said.

“The road has now been shut to allow for recovery. Affecting traffic from Launceston to Bodmin.”

Devon and Cornwall Police has been contacted about the crash.
